The Wilton Method®

The Wilton Method® of Cake Decorating will teach you all of the techniques to make cakes and treats that will amaze your friends and family for years to come. It's an experience that over 4 million people have enjoyed in cake decorating classrooms the world over.

The Wilton Method consists of three courses taught by trained Wilton Method instructors 

The first course, Building Buttercream Skills, is your starting point and will cover basics such as decorating and icing cakes, making icing with the right consistency, and designing different types of buttercream flowers. Once the first course is completed, you can extend the excitement and fun by taking one of two other courses: Flowers and Cake Design or Fondant and Gum Paste.

Flowers and Cake Design encompasses both traditional and contemporary design. It focuses on making flowers primarily with royal icing. Additionally, you will learn how to choose colors for your cake, as well as positioning the elements of decoration - borders, messaging, and flowers and embellishments.  

In the Fondant and Gum Paste course, you will learn how to cover cakes in fondant, make fondant bows and borders, and excel in gum paste flowers. The final course, Advanced Gum Paste flowers, will take your cake decorating skills to the next level as you learn the art of making realistic gum paste flowers and create a variety of leaves, blossoms, and bouquet designs.
