  • This versatile set meets the following needs:

  • Use the knives with cutting surfaces such as wood or plastic. Porcelain or metal surfaces can permanently blunt them

Care

  • Though the knives and shears can be washed in a dishwasher, it is recommended that you clean them by hand for long lasting and durable use
  • Do not soak the set contents in washing up water
  • After use, immediately place your knife under running warm water and clean it with a soft cloth. If necessary, use a little washing-up liquid and dry it immediately from the back towards the cutting edge
  • Scrub the blades with a non-abrasive metal cleaner to get rid of stains from acidic residues
  • Use a damp cloth to remove the metal fillings that may accumulate on the rod of the sharpening steel. You may also wash it with warm soapy water and then dry it completely before storing it
  • For smooth operation, occasionally put a drop of oil near the screw of the kitchen shears
  • Clean the knife block regularly with a damp cloth or non–abrasive sponge and dry it with a tea towel
  • Do not use the knives as screwdrivers or can openers as that can permanently damage their cutting edges
  • For enhanced durability, sharpen the knives on an occasional basis. The sharpening steel is meant to be used only with non-serrated/scalloped knives

Safety

  • Use the set contents with extreme care and precaution
  • Do not run your finger along the cutting edge to check the sharpness of your knife
  • Keep the set contents away from sources of heat
  • Place the knives where they can be seen. Never cover them with a kitchen cloth or other utensils
  • Always pick each knife by its handle. While passing it to others, only do so with the handle pointing towards them
  • Use a knife that is well suited to the produce you’re cutting
  • Always cut away from the body, step back if your knife slips and falls. Do not attempt to catch the knife while it is falling
  • Store the set in a space that children cannot access
  • Store your knives safely in the knife block and do not leave them loose. To ensure stability, place your knife block and cutting board on an even, anti-slip surface
  • Sharpen the knives on an occasional basis. Not only are sharp knives more productive but they’re also safer to use as they require less pressure while cutting and do not slip easily
