Use
These floral wires are ideal for use when making wired sugar flowers and leaves. Cut the wires as per the required length using a wire cutter, if preferred bend the wires to make a small hook at the end. Prepare the gum paste flower or leaf and insert the wire into them to create a stem. Bind the stems together with a floral tape to create floral stems and bouquet.

Wire Gauges in Making Flowers:

Wire gauge #18 to #22
  • These floral wires are commonly used for making pistils to bloom
  • The wire gauge # 22 is used as reinforcement of another wire for making stamen centers for medium flowers
  • The wire gauge # 18 is used to support another wire for making heavier flower with stamen centers such as Open Peonies and Open Roses

Wire gauge #24
Ideal for making the following:
  • Filler flowers with less than an inch size Example: hydrangea, cosmos, cherry blossoms, dogwood, etc.
  • Stamen Centers

Wire gauge #26
  • Suitable for making a less than inch flowers which require some movement or may use for flowers with thin petals
  • Used for making medium filler flowers such as daisies, carnations, Agapanthus, etc

Wire gauge #28 to #30
  • These wire gauges are typically used for making small flower buds such as jasmine buds, fuschia buds and even for the lily of the valley
